Welcome to the third edition of breakfast in bed, a free newsletter delivered to your inbox every Sunday morning. The intention behind the newsletter is to serve as a distraction from your existential Sunday dread—AKA the Sunday Scaries. It is broken into five categories, each of which represents one of the ways I distract from my own Sunday Scaries. Thank you for reading!

The Ex-Vows by Jessica Joyce came out on Tuesday, July 16th! I am a sucker for a good second chance romance and was very much not disappointed by this one… I think it might be my favorite romance of the year thus far!
I finally started Funny Story by Emily Henry!! I don’t know why it took me so long to start it, but I’m excited I finally did. I haven’t gotten too far into the story yet, but I’m excited to share my thoughts next week.

I sent my husband to the store for a yellow onion and he came home with these new-to-us Reeses. So freaking good omg. If your Sunday Scaries are bad today, I highly suggest you treat yourself to a bag of these.
I found this Crispy Quinoa Edamame Salad recipe by
of Jenn Eats Goood a few months ago and it has become a staple in our house. I probably make it every other week or so. It’s super easy, fresh, and healthy, and — huge bonus — requires very little prep.shop
Today is the last day of Doen’s Online Warehouse sale. If you have never purchased anything from Doen, now is the time because things rarely go on sale. I made my first Doen purchase during this sale two summers ago and I have been hooked ever since. The link above is not an affiliate link, just love Doen and think it’s a sale worth shopping :)

As a proud millennial who is not in denial about the fact that we can be an very cringy bunch, I loved this episode of The Bad Broadcast. Madi read through a list of cringy millennial behavior, discussed each item on the list, and then decided on whether or not the criticism we receive for said behavior is warranted or not. It literally had me laughing out loud at parts — perfect for Sunday escapism.
LOVED this episode of The Culture Study Podcast by
! I am a fairly big fan of romance novels and this was a fun exploration of the history of/nature of the genre. If you are a romance reader I highly recommend giving it a listen. And that is all she wrote for this Sunday :)
I’ll be back on Tuesday with a new post but if you would like to see more from me in the meantime, follow along over on Instagram!
XOXO,
Maddie
